Hello; it has been slightly over 24 hours since I dropped you at the airport in Comox. The house was quiet, without the lovely laughter and chatter of your daughters, when I returned… it was so wonderful to meet Warren again, and for the first time with you and your daughters. Hello Lucianna. The children have just returned to school after a long half term break. I came home to check my email messages and thought that I hadn’t looked at your blog for some time, so I found my way back to it. You certainly have been busy. I so admire the way you uphold and present your work which is consistently loving and daring. I was so glad to hear of your blessing and ritual for the maple tree. It would have troubled me to be a part of the tree being cut down, so what a wonderful way to meet this situation. The photos of Warren’s bread workshop demonstrated that it was very well attended. In this way, I do miss the active and particapatory spirit of the North Americans. Your photos and comments of your hand work help me to begin to honor some of the things I have done myself which feel rather invisible, so thank you. I came home today feeling very lonely and tired. I send you all my good wishes and love.

Dear Luciana:
Perky sent me information to give me access to this site. I have now read a good many of the stories, descriptions of activities and other tibdbits posted. I am delighted that in this way I can get to know all of you and keep updated with your activities.
Yesterday J.E. and I went to see Julie and Julia and I cannot help but compare the movie with your blog. Did you know that someone named Julie Powell actually adopted a year long project of preparing all 500+ recipes in Julia Child’s cookbook. She created a blog and in it each night she posted her day’s cooking activity and her emotional responses to it. At the end of a year, filled with both fun and frustration she discovered that she was a writer and had a book to show for it. Cute movie!
So – who knows where all this may take you!!!
As you probably know, we were just in Phila, only sorry you were not there at the same time. Perky had a luncheon for us at which she surprised me by inviting two of my old friends to join us – what fun!
We took Dean (Gail’s oldest) to Chicago for 6 days – a spectacularly beautiful city – the architecture in unsurpassed and plenty to do for kids, and older people also – we had a great time.
Now that I have access, I look forward to following your blog.
